Where does FIKA come from?

Fika is often translated as "a coffee and cake break", which is kind of correct, but really it is much more than that.

Fika is a concept, a state of mind, an attitude and an important part of Swedish culture. Many Swedes consider that it is almost essential to make time for fika every day. It means making time for friends and colleagues to share a cup of coffee (or tea) and a little something to eat.

Where does LAB come from?

The LAB section mainly stands for experimentation as we are not going to serve customers the most standard things... You can come to us for coffee and cakes (of course), but also for home-made herbal infusions for which we are happy to provide an extra word of explanation. And it doesn't stop there, because our assortment also includes savory and sweet snacks to share, such as Swedish meatballs and cinnamon rolls.

Who are we?

Fien and Kato, the two sisters behind the concept. After two pop-ups at Boutersem, we took the plunge and entered the FIKA adventure in January 2024 for real!
